Every time the new iPhone models releases, jailbreaking them is one of the biggest concerns. The iPhone 12 line up is no exception. Normally, it takes the jailbreaking teams a few months to jailbreak a new iPhone or a new iOS version. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models have been out there for over 2 months, with iOS 14 equipped on them. In addition, Apple has also released a number of updates on iOS 14 to deal with bugs and issues as well as add more features to the operating system. So, is it possible to jailbreak iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro running the newest iOS 14.3? Here is what we know so far.
Can you jailbreak iPhone 12 Running iOS 14.3?
The answer is NO. Unfortunately, there are no methods available to jailbreak an iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, or iPhone 12 Mini in general, not to mention that it’s running iOS 14.3. However, it’s still possible to jailbreak iOS 14 – iOS 14.3 on older iPhone models using Checkra1n.
Jailbreak iOS 14.3 With Checkra1n
Checkra1n is one of the most popular jailbreaking tools that you can find on the internet nowadays. The Checkra1n team released a jailbreak for iOS 14 right after the global release hit the public. Up to now, their tool is still in the early stage of development, but it is able to jailbreak different iPhones running iOS 14.3 However, there is a problem with the Checkra1n tool. It only works on older iPhones and iPads that are using the A10/A10X, A9, and older chips. You can check out our guide here to learn more about this tool.

Basically, the Chekra1n tool will take advantage of the checkm8 bootrom exploit to jailbreak an iPhone. Therefore, it only works with those devices that are vulnerable to the exploit. Sadly, iPhone XS and newer models, including the iPhone 12 series, are not among those devices. So it’s not possible to jailbreak them with Checkra1n. Even with jailbreak-able devices like the iPhone 8 or iPhone X, there are still some drawbacks when you unlock them via this tool. Specifically, it requires users to turn off Face ID/Touch ID and not to set any lock screen passcode. This is due to a new security requirement that Apple added in iOS 14 for these devices, which limits the usefulness of the checkm8 bootrom exploit.
How About the Other Jailbreak Tools?
Apart from CheckraIn, there are a few other working jailbreak tools on the internet. But Unc0ver is probably the most reliable tool you can find. In fact, if you’re already happy with Checkra1n or Unc0ver, you won’t need to trouble yourself with the process of installing a new jailbreak.

Unc0ver used to be the top choice when it comes to jailbreaking iOS 13 and the iPhone 11 line up. However, since the release of iOS 14 and iPhone 12, the team has been relatively silent. It’s possible that the Unc0ver team might be working on an iOS 14 exploit that can turn into a way for jailbreaking the operating system.
