How to Sync Notes from iPhone to Mac in 2022

The Notes app is one of the most-used apps on the iPhone, allowing you to quickly capture ideas or reminders when you least expect them. The good news is that you can access the notes you have taken on your iPhone on your Mac. In fact, there are several ways you can sync notes from iPhone to Mac. We will show you the steps in the section below.

Before we dive in, we suggest you have the latest update of the Notes app on your iPhone. Some of its new features may not work on an older version of iOS. If your notes fail to sync from your iPhone to your Mac, then restart your iPhone and try again.

How to Sync iPhone Notes to Mac

Method 1: iCloud

iCloud is one of the most straightforward ways to sync notes from an iPhone to a Mac. With iCloud Notes sync enabled, your notes are accessible across all of your devices as long as they are signed in to the same Apple ID account. Here are the steps.

For iPhone,

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your Apple ID name at the top and select iCloud
  3. Turn on the switch for Notes.

Once you are done, all the notes you have taken on your iPhone will be automatically synced to your iCloud. You can access them on your Mac signed in with the same iCloud account. If syncing does not work, make sure you have enabled iCloud syncing on your Mac too.

For Mac,

  1. Open System Preferences on your Mac.
  2. Select Apple ID and then select iCloud.
  3. Check the box next to Notes.

Alternatively, you can use the Notes app on your Mac to sync the notes from your iPhone. To do it, open Notes > click Notes on the menu bar > Account > iCloud > Notes
