Apple Maps is now one of the best mapping services on the market. Apple’s mapping app was once a disaster, with bugs and glitches. The Cupertino company has been working on improving its mapping service for years, in an attempt to add up to a better user experience. Apple Maps has quickly become a more stable and reliable service, allowing for easier navigation.
In iOS 10, Apple Maps received huge improvement, with better look, search improvements, Parked Car feature, and support for third-party apps. iOS 11 continues that trend, bringing major changes to Apple Maps. In iOS 11, Apple Maps now stands in line with Google Maps, or even becomes better than what Google’s mapping service can do.

Flyover mode in Apple Maps
Flyover mode is Apple’s answer to Google Street View, allowing users to take a 3D tour of their desired city. In reality, Flyover mode is one of the biggest additions to Apple Maps, offering you an overview of a city. Apple’s Flyover mode is now available in hundreds of cities worldwide. All you need to do is to launch the Apple Maps app, then search for a city and then hit the Flyover button to activate Flyover mode.

3D view
With Apple Maps, you can get a 3D view of a city, which comes in handy for those who frequently travel to unfamiliar locations. Google Maps, on the other hand, uses satellite to offer 3D view during turn-by-turn navigation. While this may be useful for some users, it may look like a struggle if you navigate through cities with tall buildings and landmarks.
To enable 3D view in Apple Maps, launch the app on your phone and then swipe up with two fingers to enter 3D mode. 3D view now supports hundreds of cities around the world, with more to come in the future.

Apple Maps now includes support for Uber and Lyft, meaning that you now can get a ride without switching apps. The process is pretty easy, and you can follow our steps below.
Step one: Open Apple Maps on your device and get directions from one place to another
Step two: Hit the Ride button at the bottom right corner of the screen

Both Google Maps and Apple Maps now include the option to get airport information. However, with Apple Maps, you can do a lot more. With Google Maps, you can get weather conditions for thousands of cities worldwide. However, Apple Maps gives you a lot more, like temperature and conditions for landmarks or a five-hour forecast. To view the weather in Apple Maps, launch the app on your device and press firmly on the weather button in the lower right corner of the screen.
