-
Reboot your iPhone
The first thing you need to do is to reboot your device. A reboot helps fix some major iPhone issues like app crashes, unresponsive touchscreen, or frozen keyboard. In this case, it may do the trick. However, the method used to reboot an iPhone XS or XS Max is different from past iPhone models.
To reboot an iPhone XS, XS Max, or XR, press Volume Up and then release the button. After that, press the Volume Down and then release the button. Now, press and hold the Power/Lock button on the right side of the phone. Keep the button pressed until you see the Apple logo and your phone should reboot. Once your device finishes booting up, check if the problem is fixed.

Turn up the volume
If the problem still persists, then make sure you have enabled the volume on your iPhone. In reality, there is a good chance that you have disabled the volume. To check if your iPhone’s volume is now turned on, launch the Settings app from your home screen, then tap Sound & Haptics and adjust the volume using the slider under the Ringer and Alerts section.
Once you are done, go to Sound, then select a ringtone to check if your iPhone alarm is still working. If you barely hear your alarm, then pick a louder sound. To do this, open the Clock app on your iPhone, then select the Alarm tab and hit Edit. Now just simply select a ringtone and go to Sound to test the sound.
-
Incorrect time setup
If your iPhone alarm remains silent at the designated time, then there is a good chance that you have not the correct time setup. Fortunately, you can edit your alarm at any time. To do this, launch the Clock app on your iPhone, then tap Edit under the Alarm section and tap on the alarm you wish to edit. Now just simply edit the time or day. If your alarm still fails to work when the time comes, the problem may be with Bedtime.
In a modern version of iOS, the Clock app features a built-in tool called Bedtime. As the name implies, Bedtime helps you get to sleep and tell you when to wake up. While this comes in handy, one major drawback is that it may cause your alarm to malfunction. To fix this, open the Clock app, then tap the Bedtime tab and turn off the switch for Bedtime at the top of the screen.
-
Remove the alarm
If the problem is still present, then remove the alarm and set up the whole thing again. To do this, launch the Clock app from your home screen, then select the Alarm tab and tap Edit. After that, tap the red minus button and tap Delete to remove the alarm. Once you are done, set a new alarm to see if the problem is dealt with.

Restore your iPhone to its default settings
If none of the above settings fails to work for you, then the last hope for success is to restore your device to its default state. Following this method, all your content and settings will be removed, meaning that you need to set up your device from scratch. We recommend you make a backup in case something goes wrong during the process.
To do this, open the Settings app, then select General and hit Reset. Now just simply hit Erase All Content and Settings. Once you are done, set up your device as new and everything should be fine now.
