In iOS 11, the stock Calendar app offers lots of customization options to fulfill your daily needs. One of the best things when it comes Apple’s built-in Calendar app is the ability to work with third-party apps and services. This offers users multiple options to interact with the app.

The Calendar app for iPhone includes a lot of hidden tips you should know about. With that in mind, we are here to help. In the section below, we have created a list of the best Calendar tips for your iPhone. Before we begin, make sure you now have the latest software update on your device.

  1. Family calendar

One of the best things when it comes to Apple iOS is that they work perfectly together. This allows for faster file transfer. With a modern version of the Calendar app, Apple introduces a feature for your entire family, dubbed Family Sharing. Basically, the stock Calendar app includes an option that allows you to create an event that’s accessible to every Family member.

This is one of the biggest additions to the Calendar app, as it allows anyone to view and update the event. If you are a family organizer, you should receive notifications when someone edits or removes an event. Besides, family members can unsubscribe to the calendar’s family sharing at any time.

  1. Select your default calendar

Apple’s stock Calendar app now allows users to select their preferred calendar to suit your needs. In reality, the ability to change the default calendar is not something new out there as it has been a part of Android for years. Apple is finally adding this feature to its stock Calendar app, offering users an option to select their calendar.

To do this, you first need to open the Calendar app from your home screen, then scroll down a little bit and hit Calendar. After that, tap Default Calendar and then choose Family to complete the task.

  1. Default Alert Times

The stock Calendar app includes an option called Default Alert Times that helps you catch up with the latest events. This is one of our favorite Calendar features, as it keeps me from missing my business appointments.

To do this, open the Settings app from your home screen, then select Calendar and tap Default Alert Times. Once you are in, you will be presented with three options, including Birthdays, Events, and All-Day Events

  1. Drag and drop

The drag and drop feature is one of the highlights of iOS 11. The feature now works in the Calendar app, offering users a new way to interact with the app. You now can move your event to its new day and time. To do this, open the Calendar app from your home screen, and then tap and hold an event until it turns darker. After that drag and drop it to its new day.

  1. View your weekly schedule

The Calendar app includes a handy little tip that allows you to view your weekly schedule. All you need to do is to put your phone in landscape mode. Once you do that, you should see all of your Calendar events for the entire week. This makes sure that you won’t miss any important meetings or appointments.

  1. Change the color of a calendar

One of the coolest parts of Apple’s stock Calendar app is that it color-codes your events. However, if you are not happy with the default colors, then you can change them directly from the Calendar app.

To do this, open the Calendar app from your home screen, then tap the Calendar links at the bottom and then hit the Info button. After that pick your new color under the Color section.

  1. Create repeating events

The Calendar app now includes an option that allows you to create custom repeat schedules for your events on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. To do this, launch the Calendar app from your home screen, then create a new event and hit the Repeat settings and hit Custom. After that, choose your options, including daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. Now just simply follow the on-screen instructions and hit the Done button to complete the setup.

  1. Add or change an event using Siri

Apple’s virtual helper, Siri helps you a lot with your daily tasks. In this case, you can use your voice command to add or change an event in the Calendar app. To do this, fire up Siri and simply say “add a meeting to my calendar”.
