The new iPad Air 4 has landed in our shores and it is probably the best iPad Air ever made. With so many new features, the new iPad Air is an appealing device. But, are you really getting the most out of your iPad? What if I tell you that your iPad Air 4 can do more than what you expect. Read on to know our best tips and tricks for using the new iPad Air 4.
New iPad Pencil Features
Apple pencil is actually a fantastic tool for taking notes and doing a couple cool tricks. Now, you can use your pencil to tap on the screen to pull up an instant note, if you are on the lock screen or notification center.
Another great feature is a quick screenshot on iPad Air 4. Simply drag your screen up from any corner to activate this. Honestly, this method is way better than pressing the top and the volume up button at the same time.
Unlimited Fingerprints for Touch ID
Of course, the iPad Air does have a fingerprint sensor located at the top. However, Apple does not let you know how many fingerprints you can add.
There is a way of getting around this by adding multiple fingers at the same time. What you need to do is go to Settings > Touch ID and Passcode. Now, you simply choose Add a Fingerprint and do it like usual. But, the best trick is to change your finger each time you touch the fingerprint reader. Do this in an order with 2 or 3 fingers and you will have unlimited fingerprints for Touch ID.
Enable Reduce Motion for Better iPad Experience
The first thing I wanted to do on this new iPad Air was reducing its motion. The new iPad Air 4 only features a 60Hz display instead of a 120Hz ProMotion display. To be honest, if you have been using the iPad Pro for a long time, you should notice that scrolling and animations lag a little bit. So, turning on Reduce Motion can actually make it smoother.
Here is how to do it: Open Setting > Accessibility > Motion > Turn on Reduce Motion
This is probably one of the coolest things this iPad offers. Now you can do your tasks on multiple apps easily without the need for third-party apps.
Actually, there are 2 versions of this technique, but you can still combine it together. While the first one will let you use 2 or more separate apps, the second will allow you to watch videos when using another app at the same time.
How to use multiple apps on iPad Air 4 with Split View:
- Open an app.
- Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to open the Dock.
- From here, tap and hold the second app that you want to open
- Next, drag it off the dock to the left or right edge of your screen.
- Use the app divider to adjust or close the Split View screen.
How to watch video and use other apps at the same time:
- Open your browser and go to Youtube.
- Click on the “aA” on the right of your website link.
- Choose “Request Desktop website”
- Next, go back and choose the video you like.
- Tap on this symbol to turn on Floating screen feature.
- Finally, close your browser and open another app. Now you can watch videos on Youtube and use other apps at the same time.
Note: This method also works with Facetime or other streaming apps. In this case, you just need to click on the Picture in picture icon
