Periscope is one of the most popular live video streaming apps out there. Basically, the app allows you to broadcast live video and interact with people using hearts and comments. Besides, you can broadcast your video privately to specific friends or followers. If you frequently use Periscope to interact with your friends, you will probably need to clear the app’s stored data.
In reality, Periscope files will build up over time, thus taking up a considerable amount of storage space on your iPhone. So, flushing the app’s caches serves as the best way to regain your precious storage space.
In this step-by-step guide, we will run you through the steps to clear Periscope’s stored data on your iPhone and iPad. Before we begin, make sure that you are now running a modern version of Periscope on your iPhone and iPad.
Steps to clear Periscope’s caches to save storage space on your iPhone and iPad
Step one: First off, you need to launch the Periscope app from your home screen. After that, you need to tap on the rightmost tab located at the bottom of the screen to proceed
Step two: Next up, you need to scroll down a little bit and hit the Settings button
Step three: Once you are done, you now need to navigate to the Storage section and select Clear Cache
Step four: You will notice that there is a green banner indicating that you have successfully cleared data from the app
Note that if you don’t see the Clear Data option below Storage section, this means that you are running an older version of Periscope. So, make sure that you have updated the app before proceeding.
If you want to check how much storage space Periscope is using on your device, you simply need to head to Storage & iCloud Usage from the Settings app, select Manage Storage and choose the app from the list.
