iOS 14 brings tons of cool features and improvements to users. However, it still missed out on some features that most fans were expecting. Therefore, we would love to see their wishes fulfilled with next year’s iOS 15. Also, since people have already talked about iOS 15, here are some early rumors and features that Apple fans would love to see.
iOS 15 Release Date
Apple tends to introduce its new iOS at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Plus, the traditional time for a new iOS launch is in the middle of September. Therefore, we expect to see the release date of iOS 15 at the same time next year. On top of that, it’s still too early to tell if WWDC 2021 will be online-only or not, given that the Covid 19 pandemic is ongoing in the world.
What Users Expect from iOS 15
Detach Native Apps from OS
Most third-party apps on the App Store receive frequent updates to fix bugs and improve the user experience. However, Apple’s first-party apps only get updates when Apple launches a new update to the iOS software. Therefore, we hope Apple will detach its native apps from the operating system next year. This will allow the company to update its native apps more quickly.
FaceTime with Screen Sharing
FaceTime is getting better and better every time Apple releases new software updates. However, it still lacks something that prevents it from standing in line with Skype or WhatsApp. Most users and engineers suggested that Apple could offer shared video watching with FaceTime.
Well, only time can tell if Apple can add this feature to the iOS 15 or not. But, imagine being able to watch Netflix with your loved ones when you two are apart on FaceTime. It’s totally worth the wait!
Most Android phones already have this feature. Therefore, this is a reasonable expectation. In fact, this feature has become common on most Android devices since 2016. The Always on Display (AOD) is basically exactly like its name. It allows you to customize your screen to show the time, date, battery status, notifications, and more.
Although it does cost a bit more battery, this feature will save you from constantly turning the screen on to check the time or see what notifications you’ve missed.
Going all the way back to iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, the list of compatible devices for iOS 14 is long enough to satisfy every user. So, we would love to see if the new iOS 15 will still support old models. However, sources say that iOS 15 will put an end to older iPhone models due to its complex animations and demanding features.
We are still a year away from the iOS 15 launch, meaning Apple has a lot of time to test it out ahead of the final release. Let’s hope that they will surprise us like what they do with the home screen customization feature this year.
