Here is how you install and use WhatsApp on Mac

WhatsApp is a great app for iPhone and iPad users. Facebook-owned messaging app now has nearly one billion users worldwide, making it one of the most popular messaging services in the world. WhatsApp is now available for PC and Mac, which means that you now can enjoy the messaging experience right on your Mac.

Basically, the desktop version of WhatsApp works similarly to what we have already seen on its iOS counterpart. You are still able to chat for free, share files and receive notifications.  However, WhatsApp for Mac simply serves as an extension of your iPhone, which means that you still need an iPhone with the latest WhatsApp version installed to setup and use the app on Mac.

Assuming that you have a WhatsApp account and the latest version installed in your iPhone, you now can setup and use the messaging app easily.

How to install and use WhatsApp on a Mac

Step 1: First and foremost, make sure that you set up your WhatsApp account using a phone number.

Step 2: Visit https://www.whatsapp.com/download/ to download the app for your Mac.

Step 3: Once it is done, open the app on Mac and you will see a QR code that appears on the screen.

Step 4: Launch the WhatsApp mobile client on your iPhone.

Step 5: Head to Settings and select “whatsApp Web”, and then all you have to do is to scan the QR code on your Mac screen.

Step 6: Wait for the scan to finish, then all you contacts and conversations will be synced with your Mac. From now on, you can use the desktop version of WhatsApp in the same way you do with the mobile version.
