Apple iPhone is one of the best flagship smartphones you can buy right now on the market. iPhones get better and smarter every year when Apple releases new models. This year, we welcomed three new iPhones including iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR after months of endless rumors and leaks. On the surface, the 2018 iPhone lineup might not be a significant upgrade over its predecessors. However, there are still a lot of new things that are worth the upgrade.
Apple is expecting to ship around 20 million iPhone units by the end of the year. However, it seems that things don’t go according to plan as Apple has seen slow sales in recent months. Reports claim that Apple will resume production of older iPhone models to boost sales in 2019. In reality, Apple is rumored to put the iPhone X back on sale as there is still a high demand for the device on the market.
Despite slow sales performance, Apple iPhone is a better choice for newcomers. Indeed, if you are new to the Apple iPhone, then we are here to help. In the section below, we will walk you through the steps on how to use your iPhone. For some background, carriers and retails worldwide are offering great deals on iPhones and iPads. Besides, you can trade in an older iPhone to save a few bucks.

Set up your new iPhone
When you first power on your iPhone, you should go through the steps to set up your iPhone. Fortunately, Apple is making the process much easier than before. All you need to do is to follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. During the setup, you will be asked to turn on Location Services or create a new Apple ID.
If you have an iPhone X or newer, make sure you set up Face ID on your device. For some background, Face ID is Apple’s security measure that allows you to unlock your device with a simple glance. Basically, Face ID takes advantage of TrueDepth camera on the front of the X to map your face.
The method used to set up Face ID is pretty simple. To do this, fire up the Settings app from your home screen, then tap Face ID & Passcode and hit Set Up Face ID. Now just hit Get Started and follow the instructions to complete the setup.

Gestures
With the iPhone X or later, Apple removes the physical home button in favor of navigation gestures. If this is the first time you are using an iPhone, then it may take some getting used to. With that in mind, we are here to help.
In reality, there are some basic gestures you need to master. For instance, you can quickly access your iPhone’s camera by simply swiping left. When you swipe right, you can access all the widgets. To unlock your phone, perform a swipe-up from the bottom of the screen. If you are in an app, use the same method to go back to the home screen.
To access App Switcher, swipe up on the home bar and pause a bit. From here, you should see a list of all running apps. To close them, simply swipe up on an app card and tap on a blank space to go back to your home screen. If you want to switch between apps, swipe left or right on the home bar at the bottom of the screen.
iPhones are getting bigger and Apple is making things much easier. Indeed, iOS includes Reachability that allows you to navigate the display with one hand. To turn on the feature, launch Settings on your home screen, then hit General, and tap on Accessibility. From here, turn on the switch for it.

Apps and games
One of the best things when it comes to Apple devices lies in the App Store. There are now over 2 million apps on the App Store and the number is set to grow in the future. When you finish setting up your device, it’s time to download some apps and games.
If you are switching from Android, then head to the App Store and find your favorite apps. Keep in mind that your saved games will not be transferred to iOS, meaning that you need to start over. Most games out there are optimized for iOS devices, so they run smoothly without any lag.

The 2018 iPhone lineup comes with eSim functionality at launch. This means that you have two networks at the same time on your iPhone. However, not all carriers out there support eSim, so make sure it is supported by your carrier. Apple says that eSim is now accepted by ten countries out there including the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, Spain, the U.K., the U.S, Austria, Canada, and Croatia.
