Apple Music Family plan has been around for years, allowing up to six people to share a subscription for a very cheap rate. Apple Music Family plan now costs $14, 99 per month, while an individual plan now charges $9, 99 per month.

To use Apple Music Family plan, you first need to set up Family Sharing feature. As the name implies, the feature allows you to share content purchased from iTunes, iBooks, and App Store with other members of the family. A Family subscription requires you to enable Family sharing, so you can add others to Apple Music.

To set up Family Sharing, open the Settings app on your Apple device, then select iCloud and tap Set Up Family Sharing. After that, confirm that you want to be the Family Organizer. A family organizer can add or remove a member in the group. Now just simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Once you have successfully set up Family Sharing, then you now can sign up for Apple Music. To make sure that everything runs smoothly, all the members of your family should have an Apple device. If one of them is an Apple Music subscriber, they need to end their subscription, so they can join a Family subscription.

How to share Apple Music with your Family

If you are now an individual Apple Music subscriber, you need to change it to Family Plan. The process is pretty simple and you can follow the steps below.

Step one: Open the Music app from your home screen, and then tap For You

Step two: Once you are in, tap your profile in the top corner of the screen and then hit View Account

Step three: Tap View Apple ID and then provide your Apple ID password. After that, select Subscriptions and then hit Family. Now just simply hit Back to complete the task.

Once everything is ready, you now can add other members to Apple Music, so you can share your songs with up to 6 people.

How to set up Family Sharing on Android

Apple Music has been available for Android for some time. To use Family plan in Apple Music, you also need to set up Family Sharing. In Android, you can do this right in the Apple Music app. Here is how:

Step one: First off, open the Apple Music app and then tap the three-line icon at the top left corner

Step two: Tap your profile and then select Manage Membership

Step three: Log into your Apple ID and tap Family Setup. After that, just simply hit Continue and add your family members to Family Sharing.
