How to remove photos from iPhone via Image Capture on Mac

Last year, Apple released the new Photo app for Mac to replace iPhoto and Aperture. Basically, the new Photo app is a great addition to Mac, as it allows users to sync their full-quality photos and videos between devices. The best part is that the app works perfectly with iPhone and iPads, which means that you access and edit your photos no matter what device you are on. However, there is another great app that is hidden in your Application folder on Mac called Image Capture which can do the same thing.

In the simplest terms, Image Capture is designed for those who simple don’t like using Apple’s new Photos app, and if you are one of them, read on.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to use Image Capture to remove photos and videos on your iPhone or iPad.

How to delete photos from iPhone using Image Capture

With Image Capture, you can easily delete your photos or videos stored on your iPhone. Here is how you do it.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone with your Mac with the USD sync cable.

Step 2: On your Mac, open the Image Capture.

Step 3: Once it is done, you will see your device at the sidebar of the app, click on it to proceed.

Step 4: Once you have selected your device, you will see the entire Camera Roll on the right side of your app.

Step 5: All you need to do is to select any videos and photos you want to delete.

Step 6: You will be prompted to confirm your deletion. Once you are happy with your choice, click the Delete button.

Note that your recently deleted photos and videos will disappear from your Camera Roll, so don’t try to find them.

That’s simple! From now on, you can easily remove your photos and videos that you don’t want to see from your iPhone or iPad using Image Capture. We recommend you delete your photos this way because Image Capture on Mac gives you more screen space to see photos up, so you can delete out-of-focus ones and only keep the ones that you like to see.
