How to fix touchscreen unresponsiveness on your iPhone X

Touchscreen unresponsiveness is among the most common issues when it comes to Apple iPhone. It seems that the problem still persists on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X this year. We have heard a lot of complaints from users that their 2017 iPhone touchscreen fails to work and becomes unresponsive.

If you are among those users who have been affected by the issue, we have a couple of solutions that help you deal with touchscreen unresponsiveness. Before we begin, make sure you are now running the latest version of iOS.

How to fix touchscreen unresponsiveness on your iPhone X

  1. Reboot your iPhone

Before trying to do anything, the first solution is to restart your iPhone. Rebooting may help you fix some minor issues on your iPhone like app crashes or frozen keyboard. In this case, rebooting may do the trick.

The method used to reboot your iPhone X is slightly different than past iPhone models. Press and hold the Side button and either Volume button until you see the Apple logo. After that, press and hold the Side button again to boot up your iPhone.

  1. Adjust the 3D sensitivity

If the above-mentioned solution fails to work for you, try adjusting the 3D sensitivity. iOS offers three 3D sensitivity options, including light, medium, and firm. To change the 3D sensitivity, head to Settings > General > Accessibility > 3D Touch and then drag the slider to the left. Once you are done, force reboot your iPhone to see if the problem is fixed. If nothing changes, make sure you read on.

  1. Un-install and re-install the problematic apps

If touchscreen fails to work on a particular app, then try un-installing that app and then set it up from the scratch. Before moving ahead, open the App Store and update the app. If nothing works, un-install it.

To delete an app, just simply touch and hold on the app until it starts jiggling, then hit the X button and hit Confirm to complete the task.

  1. Reset all settings

Resetting all iPhone settings is pretty helpful in many occasions. In this case, it may help deal with touchscreen unresponsiveness. Following this method, all your current settings will go back to its default settings. This means that you need to set up the whole thing again. To reset all settings on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings and confirm your action.

  1. Restore your iPhone from a backup

If none of the above-mentioned tips works for you, the last hope for success is to restore your iPhone from an iTunes backup. Here is how.

Step one: First off, connect your iPhone to a computer and then launch iTunes (make sure you now have a modern version of iTunes)

Step two: Select your device when it shows up and then hit Back Up Now

Step three: Wait for the backup to complete and then click the Restore iPhone button.
