6 Best Cooling Pads for MacBook Pro M1

MacBooks are powerful but they can get overheated from time to time due to their impressive processors. Whether you’re a blogger or a gamer, if you run power-intensive programs then your MacBook might regularly get too hot and this can lead to performance issues over time. If you’re in need of cooling down your MacBook Pro, we’ve rounded up the best cooling pads for MacBook Pros running on the super-charged M1 chip.

We’ll start off with what we think is the best all-around cooling pad for MacBook Pros.

Thermaltake Massive

Best cooling pads for MacBook Pro M1

Price: $35

The Thermaltake Massive is a beast of a cooling pad. It’s probably the largest one we’ve ever tried out and you can fit any MacBook Pro on top of its fans. A neat feature is the sliding panels that you can adjust to fit around your M1 MacBook Pro. It holds your MacBook Pro in place as you do your work so you don’t have to worry about it sliding off. The stand is adjustable too so you can change the angle of your device.

The cooling system is very quiet compared with some other cooling pads we’ve seen and that’s saying something because the Thermaltake Massive has two massive fans that sit next to each other under the aluminum case. These fans will cool your device by 20 degrees.

One of the best things about this cooling pad for MacBook Pros is the temperature display which will tell you the temperature of your device at all times on its LED display. If you notice that your MacBook Pro is getting too hot you can opt to turn on the boost mode which will increase the fan output for a short while.

KLIM Bamboo Laptop Cooling Pad

Price: $23

The next cooling pad is going to be for those who want something a little more modern looking rather than something that looks like it came from a spaceship. The KLIM Bamboo cooling pad is made from eco-friendly bamboo so it would look lovely in most settings and wouldn’t look out of place in the kitchen, lounge, or even the office. The dual cooling fans run at 1300 rotations a minute so they will do a good job of keeping your MacBook Pro cool for long periods. When your MacBook Pro isn’t sitting on it, the KLIM Bamboo cooling pad has some really cool blue backlights that come from behind the fans.

This is going to be one of the most affordable cooling pads for most people but it’s not very adjustable even though most MacBooks will fit on it. Instead of having sliding holders, it has a single lip at the bottom that your MacBook rests on.

havit RGB Laptop Cooling Pad for 15.6-17 Inch Laptop with 3 Quiet Fans and Touch Control, Pure Metal Panel Portable Cooler (Black+Blue)

The Havit RGB is a cool-looking heating pad that can be moved around easily due to its thin size. This would make it the perfect cooling pad for travelers because it’ll fit neatly in your backpack. When turned on, you’ll see three fans sitting behind the black metal mesh that is very quiet indeed. Along with the trim of the cooling pad are RGB lights that beam out of it. You’ll also get 2 extra USB ports so if you have your MacBook Pro plugged in you can still use the others for data transfer purposes or for charging.

There are two adjustable heights but no holders on the top. However, your MacBook Pro will stay on top of the Havit RGB because of the four grips located on each corner.

For example, you can turn just one fan on, four or all five. It also has two USB ports so you can use it as a hub if you need to.

The Chill Mat 5 is also large enough to fit 17-inch laptops on top of it. Your MacBook Pro will fit on top with no issues. The way it sits on top of this cooling pad is with retractable clips that unfold from the bottom of the cooling pad. They can then be folded back up when you’re not using it.

The edge around the top is rubber so it grips your MacBook Pro when placed on top of it. The whole unit can be tilted at any angle you like which makes this cooling pad highly versatile. There are also three USB ports around the back so you can use it as a power hub if needs be. Whilst it’s more expensive right now than most, it’s probably the smartest

Enermax TwisterOdio 16

The Enermax TwisterOdio 16 is an interesting cooling pad for MacBook Pros because it’s not just a cooling pad. This cooling pad also comes with two built-in speakers which are located at the back and underneath it. Laptops are notorious for having low-quality speakers so if you choose this cooling pad for your MacBook Pro you’ll be killing two birds with one stone. It’s important to note that it can only hold laptops up to 16 inches so your 17-inch MacBook Pro won’t fit. However, it’s great for smaller MacBook Pros and the speakers can be turned on or off and the speed of the fans can be adjusted too.

Note: The cooling pad is now out of stock at Amazon, so stay tuned for any restock info.
