WWDC 2016 and here is what to expect

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) has been one of the most anticipated events in the tech world for years. Apple uses the conference to showcase its new software and technologies. Last year, Apple announced OS X El Capitan for Mac, WatchOS 2 for Apple Watch. Noticeably, we saw launch of the new iOS 9, which included many exciting features and app improvements. This year, WWDC will take place from June 13 to 17, and here is what we are expecting from Apple’s annual event.

  • 1. Tim Cook will deliver the keynote speech to kick off the event


At 10 a.m, CEO Apple Tim Cook will deliver the keynote address at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. There is an immense curiosity about the new software and technologies that are expected to come out at the event. Last year, Apple showcased tons of updates to its Apple Watch and Mac. Besides, the second generation of the Apple Watch is believed to be announced at this year’s event.

  • 2. iOS 10


Apple is expected to unveil its new mobile software at the event. Sources say that the new iOS 10 allows users to hide Apple’s built-in apps they don’t use. Besides, iOS 10 is expected to come with a new Home app that allows users to control home appliances and other non-traditional connected devices from their iPhone or Mac. Other rumored features include iCloud Voicemail, and a new Apple Music.

  • 3.OS X 10.12


Last year, Apple released OS X El Capitan (10.11), which included new Desktops, new El Capitan wallpapers and many more. This year, we are expecting to see OS X 10.12 with tons of new features and improvements including bug fixes, performance optimization, new iTunes and more. Noticeably, Siri might be coming to Mac this year, as some leaked screenshots of a Siri menu bar tipped that Apple is working on bringing to the Mac in its 2016 operating system update.

  • 4. Apple Watch 2


At WWDC 2015, Apple announced its first wearable device, the Apple Watch. This year, Cupertino-based company is expected to unveil its Apple Watch 2 at the event. The new Apple Watch has been long-rumored to come with significant hardware changes such as health sensors, enhanced Siri and many more.

  • 5. An enhanced Siri


Siri is expected to come with some new features including its support for Mac. Besides, Apple will introduce a Siri API, which allows app developers to integrate their software into Siri.

Sources say that Apple will reveal new updates to iCloud and its online services in an attempt to make user’s data safe following the leaks of a collection of almost 500 private pictures of various celebrities.

  • 6. Apple Pay


Several reports have suggested that Apple Pay might come with some new features and improvements. Besides, Apple might integrate its Apple Pay with its websites through its mobile Safari browser.

  • 7. Apple Music


According to Apple, the company’s music streaming service has 13 million paying subscribers. Apple is expected to redesign its Apple Music in an attempt to compete with Spotify and Tidal.
